Neighborhood Food Pantry
Best for: Eager people looking to be the hands and feet of Jesus; not looking for kudos either!
Sanctuary@SACC feeds our neighbors every other Saturday morning (10:30 AM – 12 PM) with a generous selection of fresh produce and other healthy food selections.
Unloading and sorting the food
Serving with a smile at the food tables to ensure everything goes smoothly
Clean-up afterwards: help with recycling, cleaning the tables, taking out the trash, putting away the food slide and tables.
Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered. – Proverbs 11:25
Trauma Healing &
Refugee Ministry
Best for: Compassionate people who love to see the living and powerful gospel applied to the whole person.
Trauma is a real, debilitating experience for many of our people, especially our refugees. Our Lord offers healing through the balm of his Word. New Bible-based trauma healing groups are starting in 2023 — available in multiple languages.
How you can support us:
- Childcare: Share games, stories, and crafts with the children of the parents in the healing groups.
- Prepare a meal: Bring in a meal of your choosing for the group and any children in tow.
- Get trained in trauma healing yourself!
Trainings to learn how to lead your own trauma healing group are forming all throughout the year.
- “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18
Kids & Teens Club
Best for: Outgoing folks who love to just love on the kids in the ‘hood. No pressure here. Just smile, ask questions, play some games and let Jesus shine through!
Kids Club is a time where we invite the kids of the neighborhood for fun-filled, action-packed, kid-friendly Bible teaching time every Wednesday. We can always use help. The kids love interacting with groups!
Here are some ways to engage at SACCPhilly Kids Club:
Help with set-up and tear down: We get things started at 5:00 PM and end around 7:15 PM.
Lead in songs and games, even a teach a lesson if you’d like.
Have fun with the kids whatever you do!
Note: From October-May we meet in the church. June-August, we meet in the local park — the Mifflin Square Park located at 5th and Ritner. You can’t miss it!
- Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” – Matthew 19:14

Work Projects /
Adopt-a-Room
Best for: Handy men/women and enthusiastic youth.
Our church building is old! It was built in 1896 and needs a face-lift. We have several opportunities for willing and able workers to come down for a day or two to make repairs and improvements. Get your team together and let’s make the place shine for Jesus!
Some of our current projects include:
- Class Room Upgrade:
We have 3 classrooms in need of a facelift and some new teaching aids. Bring a couple of cans of paint (or we can pick some up at the nearby Lowe’s store)! - New Storage Closets:
We’ve already started constructing closets for our many congregations. This Spring we are hoping to build in 4 additional closets. Are you handy? Lend us a hand as we bless our people.
- Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established. – Proverbs 16:3
